Elon Musk hints at his next big investment: "Any country that can't make its own will be a vassal state..."
Elon Musk may be many things, and there's usually no middle ground with him: you either love him or hate him. But either way, one thing is undeniable: the Tesla CEO is a visionary and someone who knows how to spot and ride the wave of what will be successful in the future before most people do.
Electric cars with Tesla, AI (it was a founding member of what is now ChatGPT), online payment methods with PayPal, or research and opening up space to the public with Space X are some of the many examples that can be given.
Therefore, when it comes to issues of the future and what the needs of society will be in the coming years , at least listening to him helps us get an idea of what lies ahead.
And on this occasion, the magnate has acknowledged that he sees a very promising future in drone production , a sector in which China has been ahead of the rest of the world for years and therefore has a huge competitive advantage.
"Any country that can't produce its own drones is destined to become a vassal state of any country that can," the world's richest man retweeted from his personal X (formerly Twitter) account. While this was someone else's comment, Musk said it hit the nail on the head, and knowing him, it wouldn't be surprising if he had plans to get into drone production.

According to Morgan Stanley, if Tesla were to get involved in the future drone market, Musk could replace its electric cars with drones and interfere with China's plans. This could also be an attempt to rescue the company from one of the worst crises it has ever faced, with the massive drop in sales of its Tesla cars.
The same financial firm claims that there will be a total market of 9 trillion dollars (9,000,000,000,000) related to drones and vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft by 2050, but that it will be difficult to catch up with the Asian giant because currently "China manufactures more drones in one day than the United States does in a year."
There's no official confirmation yet that Tesla has these plans, but it's certainly a strategic opportunity to address an urgent need around the world, especially in the US, and it would be surprising if Musk didn't want to enter this new sector.
